Jeff has completed over 300 hours of teacher training, including the Baptiste Certification process, level 2 teacher training, and the Baptiste assistant/alignment specialty training. He continues to further his education by attending various teacher trainings and workshops.
Since Jeff was a young boy, he has always been drawn to fitness and exercise. He began skiing at age 3 and loved the sense of movement. He continued to love exercise and motion and became an active cycler and skier. It was after a friend shared her love of yoga and the deep benefits that Jeff found his way in his first yoga class in 2003.
After his first hot power yoga class, his transformation began, he felt like a changed man. Being a fitness enthusiast, spending long hours at the gym, on his bike and on the ski slopes, Jeff realized that the practice of yoga would provide him the level of fitness and exercise he craved, while offering him an increased level of mind and body awareness. Jeff loved the feeling of being alive, open and pushed beyond his limits.
Jeff began a daily yoga practice and realized he needed to share the power of yoga with others. He found his way to the Baptiste studio in Cambridge, which led him to his first teacher training. He has been teaching ever since at local yoga studios and gyms.
Jeff brings a blend of challenge, mindfulness and playfulness to his classes, allowing students to feel their own personal experience on their mat. He encourages students to take that freedom and power off their mat and into their lives.
Colleen Allen has been involved in various forms of fitness for over 30 years. A certified personal trainer with ACE (American Council on Exercise) and youth soccer/coach, Colleen has run three marathons, participated in several triathlons and half marathons and played both soccer and ice hockey through college.
With 3 children, a love of exercise, stiff muscles and a lack of flexibility, Colleen found her yoga mat in 2001. Initially, practicing yoga was purely for strength and flexibility. As Colleen continued to step onto her yoga mat, she realized how beneficial yoga was in her everyday life.
After 6 years of developing a strong love of the practice, Colleen took her first teacher training with Metrowest Yoga. Her passion for fitness and experience leading and guiding athletes, made the transition to encouraging others to seek the whole body benefits of yoga completely natural for her. Colleen has since completed The Art of Alignment & Assisting Yoga Training through Yogathree, and participated in several teacher trainings and workshops with yoga masters such as Baron Baptiste, Desiree Rumbaugh, Coeli Marsh and Ana Forrest immersion workshops. Colleen is currently teaching at bCalm Power yoga in Hopkinton, Anytime Fitness in Grafton and Hopkinton Country Club and subs at USMMA in Bellingham.
Colleen continues to enjoy coaching youth soccer and lacrosse programs and is the Volunteer Director of the Sharon Timlin 5K Race to Cure ALS.
Jordan was dragged to his first yoga class at age 24 by his wife Angela. Stressed out, over worked,
in constant physical pain, and wishing to be free of the incessant highs and lows in his life,
he found relief on a yoga mat.
After practicing yoga for several years he was encouraged by his long time friend and mentor
Masaaki Okamura to begin learning to teach yoga. Reluctant at first, he found he quite enjoyed
sharing his understanding with others. He continued his teacher training in vinyasa style yoga
with Master Baptiste instructors Greggor Singleton and Claire Este-McDonald.
Feeling like he had many pieces of a puzzle but could not see the whole picture he continued
training privately with Jacqui Bonwell and learned more about the spiritual side of yoga. As his
yoga practice began to grow from physical to spiritual, he was lead to studying with the founders
of Jivamukti Yoga, David Life & Sharon Gannon.
Jordan's understanding of yoga has been shaped and polished by all mentioned here. Many other
friends, family, and teachers have helped along the way. Jordan is a regular guy who lives a
regular life, and has found balance in that life through the understanding and practice of yoga.
He offers his students the philosophies of yoga combined into a physical practice that encourages
them to find their own understanding and balance in their lives.
Lisa has practiced numerous styles of yoga for ten years. She first came to yoga seeking a way to manage stress--both from a
mind/body perspective as well as a physical perspective. A long-time runner, Lisa completed four marathons--each one slower
and more painful than the last! She found yoga not only to be an amazing complement to running--but a fantastic, athletic
substitute for the constant body-pounding toll that running can exact. Lisa is a registered yoga teacher, having completed
a 200 hour teacher training with Prana Power Yoga. Though she has a day job, she dreams of the day she can teach and practice
yoga exclusively. Lisa lives in Sherborn, MA with her uber-athletic husband, three aspiring yoginis, two down dogs, and two
cats (though no cows).
Jay Atwi was introduced to yoga in 2007 by a close friend who is
involved in the Baptiste community. After taking the one class Jay was
hooked and has been practicing ever since. Jay was inspired by the
freedom and openness of the body that was created for him during the
practice that carries through into his life. It gave him more energy
to flow and become grounded. As a devoted runner and swimmer, Jay used
his practice and the openness to help connect with his breathing
during his run or swim. He is dedicated to sharing his experience with
his students, and taking it from the mat into the world.
Jay Atwi graduated from Clark University with a Bachelor in Biology
and Computer Science and is pursuing his physical therapy degree. He
is also interested in knowing the body how it works and how it moves
in natural and scientific ways. Jay completed his 200 hour teacher
training and completed Baptiste Level 1 and 2 teacher training and
assistant/alignment. He is ready now!
Mary has always been active in sports. She played soccer and participated in road races through out college.
While in college she studied nutrition and after college she became a certified Fitness Instructor (AFAA).
After her first child and first Marathon, her body just didn't feel right. She tried many different ways to help herself heal and her body relax but nothing truly worked for long.
Then luckily she found yoga. She has been practicing ever since.
Yoga not only made her body feel healthy and fluid but she was able to run again and the calmness and peacefulness it gave her mind was amazing.
As a mom of four children, it really helped her focus, calm and center herself.
She loved how yoga made her body and mind feel so she started teaching her friends.
She loved taking working shops focusing on proper alignment, breathe and centering yourself.
Yoga is a beautiful space in my life where I can always find peace and calm in the middle of uncertainty and chaos - whether
it's external or internal. I initially introduced yoga into my life as a form of exercise to keep fit but as a result found
so much more. I found a way to accept who I am, let go of judgment and ego, and just live in the moment. Take it one movement
and one breath at a time. After a consistent practice this awareness carried itself off the mat, out of the classroom and into
a place where I brought more and more awareness and attention to what I do, what I think, and what I believe in. I had to learn
how to let go of attachments and truly clarify what's important. I had to let go of a lot and start looking for things that
nourished my life, body and soul in a much healthier way. And I am still learning. That's the beauty of yoga, it's an ongoing
practice. You can always keep going and growing. And you can make mistakes. My goal is to encourage a fun, supportive and
non-competitive atmosphere in each class where students can feel free to open up, no matter where they are on their mats or
in their lives. I want to create space where everyone feels free to go within, with an open heart and mind, and enjoy the process
of becoming more body, mind and spiritually aware.
Having completed a Masters degree in Counseling Heather sought a pathway to combine her interest in psychology
and counseling with her love of physical activity. For Heather, yoga offered the opportunity to combine the
physical experience of movement, stretching and strength building with the development of mindfulness and cognitive
flexibility.
Heather completed her 200 hour teacher training at Metrowest Yoga in 2007. Since then, she has been teaching
regularly and completed additional teacher trainings with Shawn Shaw, Rolfe Gates, Beryl Bender Birch, Heather
Tiddens, Coeli Marsh and Yoga Journal Conferences.
Heather’s interest in teaching yoga stems from the desire to assist others in finding within themselves a place
of calm and relaxation. In her instruction, Heather places emphasis the strong connection between mind, body and
spirit and believes that developing a regular yoga practice can bring all aspects of life into better balance and
aid in eliminating unwanted habits of behavior and thinking.
In addition to teaching yoga, Heather is an avid skier and teaches skiing at Berkshire East Ski Resort in
Charlemont, MA. Heather is active in her community and is raising two children with her husband Bill.
I came to yoga about 8 years ago because it was a good workout. After years of running & completing over 10 marathons, knee injuries won out. I took up cycling & loved the distance of the century rides.
At the suggestion of my daughter, I went to a Baptiste Yoga class in Boston. It was amazing! This powerful practice of movement & breath brought me to an inward contentment & strength that I never realized possible.
This practice became my passion. I did not set out to be a yoga teacher, but, I believe now it was my destiny. I feel privileged to share this practice through my teaching.
I received my 200 hour certification through Prana Power Yoga in Cambridge. I completed the Baptiste Power Yoga Level 1 Teacher Training June 2010.
I completed a five day Advanced Vinyasa Teacher Training with Philip Urso, Stacy Dockins & Deb Williamson in February 2011.
I have also completed an 80 hour teacher training with Claire Este-MacDonald & Gregor Singleton at Baptiste Power Yoga Institute in Cambridge.
I have attended many workshops with Bryan Kest, Eric Schiffman, Beryl Bender Birch, Rodney Yee, Seane Corn and others.

Esther Hogan has been involved in the practice of yoga for over 15 years. Her practice evolved into a way of life after discovering
Baptiste yoga in 2007. The emotional, spiritual and physical transformation that followed left her feeling awake and alive for the
first time in her life. Yoga became an outlet in which to reduce stress and find balance; to express movement, connect and become
stronger. Yoga became a way to search for and find deeper spiritual meaning. Seeking to share her love of the practice, Esther
trained with Baron Baptiste in 2011 and began teaching classes at home. She is currently working towards her 200hr yoga certification
at BCalm Power Yoga. Esther understands that yoga is a life long "practice", and will always seek to learn more and to expand her skills.
Aside from her passion for yoga, Esther is the co-founder of Goddess Getaway, a business which caters to weekend getaways for women.
She is an avid baker who enjoys sharing her creations with friends and family. Esther keeps an active lifestyle and thoroughly
